Join Kjazz host Helen Borgers as she plays music from the jazz stars of tomorrow! She’ll spotlight the music of the schools selected to participate in the First Annual Kjazz High School Jazz Fest, taking place at the Luckman Performing Arts Center Saturday, April 15th.
Monday, April 17th 6-7pm: Jazz at Lincoln Center One Family of Jazz
Host Ed Bradley takes you to the first performance ever at the newly reconstructed quarters for Jazz at Lincoln Center the first theater complex designed for the sound of jazz. Tune in for unforgettable music from Jazz at Lincoln Center Artistic Director Wynton Marsalis joined by a-list jazz performers, including Ellis Marsalis, Branford Marsalis, Marcus Roberts, Tony Bennett and many others.
Monday, April 24th 6-8:30pm: Jazz at Lincoln Center Central Avenue Breakdown
Jazz at Lincoln Center turns their focus to the jazz history of Los Angeles with Central Avenue Breakdown! Local Jazz Hero, Gerald Wilson takes center stage, along with Plas Johnson, Ted Nash and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis.
Also this month, join Kjazz host Kellen Yamanaka for a pair of artist profiles on Jeremy Pelt and Chris Potter - tune in Thursday April 20th and Thursday April 27th at 6:35 AM and PM to hear these original features with exclusive interviews and album highlights.
