I'm a little late on this, but Jackie McClean died a couple of weeks ago, aged 73 (I think). I'm not very knowledgable on his music, but "Cool Struttin" is one of my all time favourites. He also left a lasting legacy in Jazz music education, among many other things. He was one of the last living legends who played with Charlie Parker (and just about every other great from that era and beyond). Fortunately there is a lot of archived material with interviews, etc. They did a Terry Gross "Fresh Air" interview replay from a few years back the week he died.
