Cornish (we enjoyed Joni Metcalf for years, thanks to them up on d' Hill...)...Pacific Lutheran U.---any of these local halls of high learning should be proud to have Ernestine on the staff for vocal music practicum consultation. Quick ticket out of her perdicament...but too little too late.

Please don't take THIS the wrong way, either. I was *made* by the Seattle arts community...enjoyed singing in Joni's scene at Parnells in the '80's....but...knowing my (former) home town's social darwinistic-leanings as I do, is everyone gonna ASSUME she'll be taken care of...or are we going to find Ernestine down and out in Pioneer Square ala Lucky Thompson?

Please don't take this the wrong way, Folks...

But I'm surprised that more musicians (based on the West Coast) aren't fighting this horrible economic state of affairs.
From what I've seen, there is so little work out there in the Bay & down in "LaLa Land".

Each time I come home (S.F.) for a visit, I keep tabs on the local scene & from my view... iT AIN'T PRETTY :-(

Look, it's gotten so bad here in NYC that the D.J. scene is NOW in the same miserable state that our LIVE MUSIC scene has endured for 8-10 years. I can only imagine how frustrating it is for the local cats out there in CALIFORNIA. The only solace I have is that all ART/fashion/STYLE is cyclical... "the way that Bobby Brown is just ampin' like MICHAEL"!!!

I'd love to hear some feedback from y'all.

Ernestine Anderson is now in the same 'club' as many on the west coast---a mortgage gone south on her is leaving this Seattle legend 75K away from keeping her home. I know many of us don't like to think how our finely attired heroes are often getting by on a tiny social security check...but that's reality..and Ernestine has meant a great deal to the music.
